Week 43 - Jerry's Greatest Challenge - How Fast Life Can Change

How Fast Life Can Change
Editors Note: This is week number 43 since Jerry was diagnosed with lung cancer. Jerry has reported each week regarding the progress, treatment, feelings, events and thoughts as he goes through this challenge. If you have similar challenges why not give Jerry a call. Sometimes just talking to someone going through the same or similar situations will make a difference.
From Jerry: Like I reported last week, one thing predictable about cancer is the ups and downs. They are severe. Last week I could not eat solid foods. My throat was so sore it was difficult to even drink water much less eat. The doctors said I might need to endure this pain for the entire cycle of radiation. I had lost 14 pounds due to lack of food. Blood clots were getting worst in my leg. We were taking two shots per day and double the oral medication to thin the blood. My white blood cells were too low to take my Chemo treatments. Quite frankly, I was concerned. I had a rash on my chest from the radiation that was very bad. On Wednesday I met with Dr. Wright to talk about the sore throat and he gave me a different medication.
Thanks to the hundreds of you who prayed and my prayers and positive attitudes, today I have no sore throat, the rash has subsided to a manageable levels and I feel great.
I still was unable to take my Chemo treatment again but I expect that to be remedied by this Wednesday. My appointment with Dr. Babcock is Wednesday 1-2-2007. At that time we will do another X-Ray to check the progress of the cancer. I expect very positive results.
There is one thing I want more than anything to convey to the ones with cancer and other diseases. That message is that with faith, belief, prayer and a positive expectation that one will be healed, anything can be overcome.
It is an ongoing process. We must think positive both internally and externally. Speak your belief to everyone and have an unshakable belief that you will be healed, no questions asked.
One of the things I say constantly is the following statement:
Day by day, by the grace of God I am getting healthier and healthier. There are absolutely no traces of cancer in my body. My blood count for red and white blood cells are perfect. All blood clots have dissolved. I have no sore throat. By blood consistency is perfect. Glory be to God and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Make up your own statement that fits your medical condition and replace your personalized statement in your mind and say this before you go to sleep, when you wake up and whenever you are receiving treatments for your condition. Have everyone pray for you and believe you are going to be healed. You will be shocked at the results.
Do I belief that my body will be perfect? You bet I do and you can to. Just trust in the power of prayer and believe with an unshakable focus. The results will be astounding to say the least.
Happy New year to each of you and thanks for your continued prayers and remember, it’s going to be great in 2008.
Don’t forget the caregivers. They really go through a lot of stress and strain and I am convinced that they go through even more than the person with the cancer. Call them, relieve them when you can and have lots of compassion for them. They are the rocks and support system for anyone going through a physical problem. These caregivers love the people they are taking care of.
Now let’s go out and create a terrific week and a terrific year. God bless each and every one of you.
