Jerry’s Greatest Challenge 11-04-2007 through 11-11-2007 Tumor Reduced by 50% According to PET scan
Editors Note: This is the 36th week since Jerry was diagnosed with lung cancer. Jerry has reported each week regarding the progress, treatment, feelings, events and thoughts as he goes through this challenge.

From Jerry: The MRI that was done last Friday came back normal. I questioned that because I am anything but normal, however this was good news. We were a little concerned since I was having quite a lot of dizzy spells. Now they think it may be a touch of vertigo. My head has hurt for the past 3 weeks and I am not accustomed to headaches. When I meet with Dr. Babcock we will decide how to treat this.
The great news is the tumor has reduced by 50% in my lungs. I have not talked with Dr. Babcock yet. I have an appointment with him on the 16th so I will get full details at that time. However while talking with Donna, my nurse, she read me the report. Now this is great news and we were told 50% before, however that was based on an X-Ray. A PET scan is much more accurate. When I meet with Dr. Babcock I will have a much clearer definition as to my direction and condition. Your prayers have really helped me and I want to ask you to continue to pray for me but make sure you pray as well for all the thousands of people who are experiencing the devastation of cancer.
We have some excellent development in our progress regarding the foundation. We have a CPA Robert McCullough CPA LLC of Columbia who called to tell me he was willing to move forward with helping us. This is an answer to our prayers. The foundation will be set up solely with the caregivers in mind. The caregivers are the ones that take a beating and it seems no one has a support group or extends any help for these wonderful angels. I think this will be a positive move in the right direction for those great people who take care of us. Thank you Robert.
I traveled for the first time this week to the National Association of Realtors Convention. This meeting is in Las Vegas and is currently where I am as I write this entry. We also meet with my Cyber Professionals. This is a group of highly technical Realtors from all over the county who have been meeting each 6 months for 11 years. By attending these meetings I am able to bring the latest technical advances into my business. This is first time we have met in Las Vegas and I will be the first to tell you I hope it is our last. Las Vegas is not the place I want to be.
This trip was especially difficult. I am not sure it is difficult because I have forgotten how stressing it is to travel through airports or because I don’t have the stamina I once had. For the first time in my life we were deplaned in Columbia due to mechanical problems with our plane. Needless to say I spent the entire day in an airport or trying to get to some air terminal. Like I said this was the first time I have traveled since my sickness so it has been especially difficult. If I were not so independent I probably would have never taken this trip on.
Be sure to remember if you need me to talk to your friends who are going through some of the same challenges, have them call me at 803-798-0555 or email me at Jerry@JerryFowler.com I will be glad to talk with them. I have talked with dozens of people and they seem to feel better after we talk.
Also if you need a speaker at your club let me know. We need to get the word out to all people about what their friends and neighbors are going through if they have cancer. Until next week I wish you a terrific and prosperous week and remember that “Day by Day in every way, by the grace of God, I am getting better and better and better and so can you no matter what type adversity you or your family face. Now let’s go out and create a terrific day for everyone we come in contact with. God bless each and every one of you.
