3-4-2007 till 3-18-2007
Great news on Thursday 3-8-2007. The colonoscopy came back completely normal, no cancer not even a polyp. Now this is a miracle. I have never had a colonoscopy and all males need to have one by age 50 so I did not know what to expect. Now we are cleared to move forward treating the lung cancer.
Second, we talked to Dr. Babcock on Saturday and will meet with him on Monday to schedule the installation of a Port. This is a device that is installed in the chest and hooked directly up to a major vein so the Chemotherapy can be pumped directly into that area. I think it takes about one week after the port is installed for the healing to occur so Chemo can start. I will be called the juice man. I still do not have a negative thought, not one bit of depression or any hesitation about any of the process.
Some of the things that have greatly helped me are the hundreds of cards and email I have received from many people that have put me on their prayer list. Also I say 50 times before I go to sleep and 50 times when I wake up the following statement.
Day by day, in every way, by the grace of God, I am getting better and better and better.
Reading the book the “Power of your Subconscious Mind”, by Dr. Joseph Murphy and looking at the movie called “The Secret”. This was featured on Oprah Winfrey for two weeks in a row and will completely change anyone’s life that views the movie even if you’re not sick. It is earth shattering. God has sent me wonderful doctors. First my cardiologist, Dr. John Hicks. John is a true friend and calls quite frequency to check on my progress.
Dr Greg Kondorus, my general MD, who also calls.
Dr. Preston Jones, lung specialists.
Dr. Bill Babcock, one of the best oncologists in the country and finally
Dr. James Strohecler, my gastrologist, who performed the colonoscopy. He is the best. This is one of the best teams I have seen and they give me their cell phones if I need them.
I feel that in order to beat this challenge we need three ingredients. They are positive thinking, which I have lots of. Also we need optimism, which I also have a lot of. However we need to add to that mix God and prayer. When those three are present this creates a winning combination which can beat any challenge. I have all three.
God has a plan and he is using me. You know what; I am looking forward to this journey. I feel that through my story I can help thousands that before had no hope. I have no problems with the challenges I face and will prevail with God’s help and the prayers of friends like you and your readers, they are great.
Have a terrific day.
