Week 10 - 5/6/2007 till 5/13/2007 - Page 3
5-6-2007 till 5-13-2007
This past week 5-7-2007 through 5-13-2007 has been relatively smooth with only a few ups and downs. My strength, which was non-existent after the last Chemo treatment stabilized by Thursday of this past week. WOW, the Chemo will zap any energy you have. I am told that this gets worst and worst as the treatments continue. Maybe this is a result of the build-up of chemicals. Chemo will certainly change your body.
After the last treatment the effects lasted longer and they were more pronounced. After the lost of strength and stamina, taste is the most pronounced effects. Even the water you love so much taste strange. In fact the taste is very bad. It unusually takes about 4 days to get your taste back to normal. Most food has no taste or a bad taste and the only food that tastes good is Mexican because of the spicy taste. This is good for me because I love Mexican and Mr. I at El Chico’s sees me more often.
However life is good and I am blessed that I have had no more adversities than I have had. I credit that to my faith, belief, attitude and the hundreds of prayers that are going up all over the country asking and believing that I will totally recover. Those with health problems must believe they will be healed.
On Tuesday, two weeks after my third Chemo treatment I will undergo a CAT scan. The purpose, according to Dr. Babcock is to see exactly what the cancer is doing. This will be a close look at the progress or shrinkage of the tumor. I will also have extensive blood test and consult with Dr. Babcock to see how we precede with treatment. I personally think we will see a drastic reduction in the tumor and hey it could be totally gone. That’s the thought process and what I believe and have faith in.
The statement that I say each night before going to sleep and the first thing when I wake up is as follows: “My body is completely free of disease, is totally healthy and a temple for Godâ€. I repeat this many times each night and morning.
This past week also introduced a tooth infection. This is not something you need when you are going through Chemotherapy, however things like this do happen. After taking medication for 3 days for this infection it looks like I am having an allergic reaction to this treatment as I am developing a rash on my face and chest.
Part of the dangers and hazards of Chemotherapy is the medicine you have taken before may offer challenges while your body is at a lower resistant level. We will deal with this challenge later on Monday. Again I want to thank the ones that have emailed me, written me or send cards.
We will be starting a BLOG later this week and will put all the updates on the BLOG so you can respond to them or forward them to other’s we might help. The power of positive thinking, my faith that I will totally recover and your prayers will be the force that helps me through this challenge so I thank you for all you have done.
